An excellent opportunity has arisen for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a high-speed FMCG manufacturing business in Skelmersdale. This is a modern, highly automated site that has benefited from significant multi-million-pound investment in machinery, automation, and infrastructure.

This role would suit an electrically biased or multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with complex, automated systems.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining site performance, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement across high-speed production equipment, packaging machinery, and end-of-line robotics.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Electrical and mechanical breakdown repairs on high-speed production equipment, packaging machinery, and end-of-line robotics
  • Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) to ensure reliability, safety, and compliance
  • Fault-finding across automated systems including conveyors, drives, sensors, and control systems
  • Supporting ongoing site investment, machinery upgrades, and automation projects
  • Working closely with production and engineering teams to maximise equipment uptime

What we’re looking for

To succeed in this Maintenance Engineer role, you will ideally have:

  • Experience as a Maintenance Engineer within FMCG or high-speed manufacturing
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capability
  • Experience maintaining automated production and packaging machinery
  • A proactive, safety-conscious approach to engineering
  • Flexibility to work a rotating 4 on / 4 off days and nights shift pattern
