Mechanical Design Engineer
Machinery Manufacturing | South Leeds, West Yorkshire
£30,000 – £37,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Permanent | 1pm Finish on Friday
Are you a motivated Design Engineer looking to develop your career within machinery manufacturing? This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established machinery manufacturing business in South Leeds, West Yorkshire, offering long-term stability and progression.
This Design Engineer role is a permanent position and is suited to someone with a couple of years’ mechanical design experience who enjoys producing detailed drawings and supporting the delivery of engineered machinery solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- 2D CAD / Drafting: As a Design Engineer, you will produce accurate 2D CAD drawings and detailed manufacturing documentation.
- Turning Designs into Manufacturing Drawings: Convert design concepts into clear, practical manufacturing drawings.
- Detailing: Ensure all drawings are fully detailed, dimensioned, and suitable for manufacture.
- 3D CAD Support (Advantageous): Support 3D CAD design activities where required; experience with 3D CAD software would be beneficial for this Design Engineer position.
Key Requirements:
- A couple of years’ experience in a mechanical Design Engineer role or relevant mechanical design experience.
- Strong 2D CAD drafting skills and a solid understanding of manufacturing drawings.
- Exposure to 3D CAD software is an advantage but not essential.
- High attention to detail and a practical, manufacturing-focused mindset.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and production teams.
