About Profile

An apprentice-trained Maintenance Engineer with nearly 7 years’ experience working within high-volume FMCG manufacturing environments.

This engineer is currently responsible for maintaining primary and end-of-line packaging machinery for a large FMCG manufacturer, giving him strong exposure to fast-paced production environments where reliability, response times and engineering standards are critical.

Prior to this, he worked in a manufacturing environment supporting the maintenance of process plant and equipment, including pumps, fillers, tanks, heat exchangers and valves. This gives him a useful combination of both packaging machinery and process plant experience.

Technical Experience

  • Planned and reactive maintenance across high-volume FMCG manufacturing environments
  • Breakdown support and fault finding on production machinery
  • Maintenance of primary and end-of-line packaging equipment
  • Experience with process plant and equipment including pumps, fillers, tanks, heat exchangers and valves
  • Mechanical fault finding, strip-down, repair and replacement of components
  • Electrical fault finding on motors, panels and associated equipment
  • Supporting continuous improvement activity to improve reliability and uptime
  • Working within engineering standards, safety procedures and hygiene-focused environments

Machinery & Equipment Background

This candidate has gained hands-on maintenance experience across both packaging machinery and process-related equipment.

His current role involves maintaining primary and end-of-line packaging machinery within a large FMCG manufacturing environment. Previous experience includes supporting production equipment such as pumps, fillers, tanks, heat exchangers and valves.

This background makes him particularly relevant to food, drink, FMCG and wider high-volume manufacturing businesses that require engineers who understand the demands of production uptime, hygiene standards and fast-moving operational environments.

Engineering Strengths

Although mechanically biased, this candidate has good electrical competency and relevant qualifications. He is confident fault finding across mechanically and electrically driven machinery, including motors, panels and associated equipment.

He has experience supporting planned maintenance, reactive maintenance, breakdown response and continuous improvement activity, making him well suited to a busy manufacturing maintenance team.

Having worked within highly regulated environments, he fully understands the importance of engineering standards, safety, hygiene and keeping production downtime to a minimum.

Career Goals

The candidate is now seeking a Maintenance Engineer opportunity where he can continue developing within a strong FMCG or manufacturing engineering team.

He is particularly suited to businesses operating in food, drink, FMCG, packaging or high-volume manufacturing environments where his mix of mechanical maintenance, electrical fault finding and production-focused engineering experience would be valuable.

Preferences

  • Seeking a permanent Maintenance Engineer role
  • Salary expectations of £54,000+
  • Open to shift patterns
  • Strong preference for FMCG, food, drink or high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Mechanically biased, with good electrical competency
  • Interested in roles involving packaging machinery, process plant, breakdown support and continuous improvement
